Ready-to-charge check
For anyone about to switch Stripe to live mode.
Who this is for
You are about to take money for the first time, or you already do and have never had someone try to pay less than the price, upgrade without paying, or run up your OpenAI bill.
Works for one-off payments and subscriptions on Stripe, and for apps whose features call a language model on your account.
Built for anyone about to take payments.
What we check

Why these checks: seen in public
Two days after announcing a SaaS built with Cursor and no hand-written code, its founder reported subscription bypasses, maxed-out API keys and unwanted database writes; he shut the app down three days later.

How it works
- Step 1
Share access
Send the app URL and a test login by email. For code review packages, add read access to the repository.
- Step 2
We test
We run the checklist for your package against the live app, by hand and with scripts, inside the turnaround.
- Step 3
Report and call
You receive the findings report and a plain-English summary. We walk you through it if the package includes a call.
- Step 4
Re-check after fixes
Fix with your developer or your AI tool, then we re-test the critical findings within the re-check window, included.
Findings describe what we observed on the version you gave us access to, on the date of testing. Changes after that date are not covered until re-checked.
Questions about the ready-to-charge check
ready to take payments checklist app
Before live mode, six things need to be true. The webhook signature is verified on the server. Price and plan come from your own database rather than the browser. Subscription status is read from Stripe events rather than local storage. Payment handlers use idempotency keys. Live keys exist only in server environment variables. Any model API has a spend cap. The ready-to-charge check tests each of these.
can someone bypass my paywall
Often, if the plan check runs only in the browser or the price is sent from the client. We try both against your app with a free test account and report exactly which request lets a user through, plus how to move the check to the server.
how do i test my stripe webhook signature verification
Send a webhook with a wrong or missing signature and confirm your handler rejects it, then replay a valid one and confirm nothing is charged or upgraded twice. We run both tests and report the result with the request and response.
